Jerry Lee Lewis - Live At Third Man Records
Live recording from Nashville, April 2011. Produced by Jack White.

Last year for Record Store Day a living breathing walking Saint visited Third Man Records and threw down the heavy boogie woogie live on stage. Backed by some of the best rock n roll musicians in the business (Steve Cropper?! Jim Keltner?! LIttle Jack Lawrence??!!), The Killer himself played a raucous set of his classic hits as well as some rock n roll and country standards. I saw grown men weep and children dancing in the streets. It was a beautiful once in a lifetime moment and you can now hear it all on a gorgeous slab of vinyl

Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakers - The Old Home Place Ain't The Same Anymore LP +CD
Bluegrass-yhtye Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakersin kahdeksas albumi "The Old Home Place Ain´t The Same Anymore" ilmestyy Snowflake-merkillä 15. lokakuuta. Levy on luontevaa jatkoa viime vuonna Goofin' Recordsin julkaisemalle, kansainvälistäkin huomiota saaneelle "Shave And Haircut"-CDlle.

Yhtye jatkaa edellisten levyjen tapaan juurevan akustisilla linjoilla.
Levy on äänitetty kahdessa päivässä Mankku-studiolla Porvoossa

Laulaja-mandolinisti Syrenin lisäksi yhtyeeseen kuuluu banjisti Tauri
Oksala, kitaristi J.P. Putkonen, sekä basisti Kari Hella. Edellisellä
levyllä vieraillut viulisti Nelli Ikola on tämän levyn myötä siirtynyt
vakiokokoonpanoon. Levyn kansitekstit ovat amerikkalaisen bluegrass-DJ Dennis Jonesin käsialaa.

Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers - Danger Moved West
Here’s the long-awaited new release of Miss Mary Ann & the Ragtime Wranglers “Danger Moved West”. It contains 16 songs: catchy ones writ-
ten by Miss Mary Ann herself, some by Californians Carl Sonny Leyland and Dave Stuckey plus some covers like the title track. Style of the
album: rockabilly / rock and roll. The recordings have been made with vintage equipement while playing live in the studio. The band managed to
catch a much stronger live feel onto tape then on their earlier albums. Easy for the band this time, because all of the studio sessions took place
in between tours through Europe and concerts in the USA and Russia. This time Miss Mary Ann decided to write and record more danceable
songs, like “Little Ole You”, “You Made a Hit” and “Do You Wanna Rock”; songs that are just asking to be picked-up by the dj’s. These are alter-
nated with some mid-tempo songs in which Mary Ann’s stunning voice stands out even more; just listen to “Strange Things” or “Make the Most
of It”.
Guest musicians on the album are New Ranch Girl “Pepper”, singing superb harmony vocals at 2 tracks, plus “Boogie Woogie Hall of Famer”
Carl Sonny Leyland at the piano on his own song “Honey” and one extra. Both guests already shared stage with the band at various festivals;
they fit in just perfectly.

Waylon Jennings - Goin' Down Rockin' - The Last Recordings
ver the course of his remarkable career, Waylon Jennings maintained an unparalleled level of artistic excellence. Compare his recordings from any decade and the stellar quality remains unchanged. When Waylon left us in 2002, he had been working on a new album, recording with the help of his steel guitarist/bassist Robby Turner. These recordings featured Waylon and his acoustic guitar on 12 songs, 9 original compositions and 3 co-written with friends and colleagues. The plan was to add the rest of his group, The Waymore Blues Band, to the tracks but upon his death, the Jennings family decided that releasing the album immediately would unfairly capitalize on his fans’ grief and the project was held for ten years.

Listening to these intimate acoustic recordings now is a goosebump-inducing experience. That VOICE, so familiar and commanding, comes across like it was 1977. Or 1967. Similar in structure to Johnny Cash’s bare-bones American Recordings, Waylon’s Goin’ Down Rockin’ completely fulfills its prophetic title! These songs capture the undiminished, full throttle essence of the Outlaw and serve as a moving epitaph for one of music’s all-time greats. Sundazed is honored to present this album free of overdubs and edits, exactly as it was recorded, with nothing between Waylon and listener. Place this platter on your turntable and pull up a virtual stool for a set of songs that are lonesome, on’ry and meaningful.

Wayne Hancock - Ride
LP includes code for free MP3 download of album

The legendary Big Bill Broonzy once said, “Blues is a natural fact, is something that a fellow lives. If you don’t live it, you don’t have it.” Although his new album Ride isn’t the classic blues of Big Bill, Muddy or B.B., enduring honky tonk powerhouse Wayne “The Train” Hancock has made an album of a similar attitude, and with enough grit and hardluck narrative to validate his own unique brand of cathartic
blue-collar escapism.

Produced (as usual) by Wayne and his longtime producer/collaborator Lloyd Maines (Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Dixie Chicks, Joe Ely), Ride further cements Wayne’s life-long calling [“All I want to do is play the Joints ‘til the day I die”] as a modern-day
traditionalist through his signature mélange of roadhouse blues, hepcat boogie, rockabilly, and juke joint swing.

Ride is built on a vibe that is at once more direct and personal than those of his previous releases. “The album is an organic reaction to life’s challenges … these are not sad songs,” sez Wayne. Over the course of eleven tunes, the elements of lived-incountry blues are deeply felt, whether they’re found in the 12-bar boogie-woogie feel of “Low Down Blues,” courtesy of his stable of guitarists (Bob Stafford, Eddie Biebel and Tjarko Jeen), or in “Best To Be Alone,” with its winding melody and forlorn pedal steel swoons from Eddie Rivers that recall the ghostly sounds of Hank’s guy Don Helms.

Further pushing the kinetic energy is “Home With My Baby,” in which newly realized love is pronounced with the bandstand-thumping upright bass bounce of Zack Sapunor and Wayne’s acoustic guitar shimmy that makes moving your hips damn near irresistible.

Throughout Ride a theme develops wherein soul searching transforms into letting go; where the back-porch, rockingchair contemplation seamlessly melds with the atmospheres of the lively, carefree honky tonk or just the open road that leads there. On the title track—as on the whole album—Wayne revs his engines and lets the healing transformation take him to life’s next destination: “I’m gonna get out on some interstate and throttle down to 94/ Lord I’m gonna ride/ Yeah, I’m gonna ride ride ride.”

Willie Nelson And Asleep At The Wheel - Willie And The Wheel
Jerry Wexler's long-overdue concept album takes Willie Nelson back to his musical roots. Teamed up with Ray Benson and the master musicianship of Asleep at the Wheel, this instant classic celebrates the timeless appeal of a most unique and spirited American music genre. Fall in love with Western Swing...again.

"Jerry wanted us to do this album and I'm glad we got to do it for him, “says Willie Nelson. “And that he heard it before he passed on."

Better known as ‘Mr. R&B’, Jerry Wexler was a great fan of the original Western Swing bands like Bob Wills, Milton Brown, Cliff Bruner – all first introduced to him while he was studying journalism in Kansas City. Willie Nelson also had grown up on western swing and it has always figured heavily into his approach to music. Finally Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel (hailed as the modern kings of western swing) were added, resulting in a sublime album, surefooted in its mastery but still as playful and daring as the originals.
