| Ana Popovic - Unconditional Ana Popovic is widely regarded as one of world's very best female guitar-players. Her new album, "Unconditional," was recorded at the famous Piety Street recording studios in New Orleans and is Ana's sixth studio release. It was produced by Ana Popovic and Grammy Award winning producer John Porter. "I recorded in eclectic cities like Memphis and Los Angeles, but always wanted to go to New Orleans to capture something of their rich musical history," says Popovic who was born in Belgrade, Serbia. "I loved being in New Orleans for a period of three months. I love everything about that city - its vibe, spirit and optimism, and not to forget, hospitality and kindness of the people. I think it influenced the album in more ways than just musically. " Popovic was recently honored to appear as a special guest at B.B. King's German shows. Her previous studio release, "Still Making History" made its way to #3 on the U.S. Billboard blues chart for a total of 19 weeks. On 2011's "Unconditional," Ana truly is a guitar goddess – illustrating a daring slide on a powerful guitar record that presents a soulful fusion of contemporary and classic blues. The album features a representation of New Orleans' finest musicians such as renowned slide guitarist Sonny Landreth, the amazing Jon Cleary and David Torkanowski on Hammond B3 and piano, Calvin Turner on bass and Doug Belote on drums. "I was fortunate to have the fabulous Sonny Landreth - my slide idol since my Belgrade years - to play on the album, a dream come true,'' says Popovic. Also the incredible harp player Jason Ricci makes a guest appearance. Of the album's twelve songs, eight are originals by Popovic, from which two are co-written by writing partner Mark van Meurs. Also on the album are songs gleaned from the rich blues history done by some of Ana's favorites, including Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, Otis Spann, Nina Simone and Sugar Pie DeSanto. "The title 'Unconditional'," Ana explains, "describes what I feel on stage. That place is simply unconditional. It is magical. It's just me and my guitar, notes, sounds and drum grooves. I let the band lift me up, and I feed off of their energy. I hate to think when playing. I only feel. Unconditional is how I stand towards my music - it's mine, it's sacred, and it's with no boundaries – absolute, definite. I tend to put everything I have into it and don't let anything or anyone get in between, except the people that truly inspire me." |

Formed in 1980, THE BLUE CATS released their seminal FIGHT BACK album and single WILD NIGHT in 1981. Their fusion of rockabilly and new wave was, and still is the prime example of what became known as neo‐rockabilly. In the mid 1980’s they started working on the G-MEN project and songs that would form the basis of the next stage on their journey, BELTANE FIRE. After a hugely successful year on the alternative London club Circuit, they signed to Sony Music in late 1984 and in 1985 recorded album DIFFERENT BREED. In 1992 they recorded again as THE BLUE CATS, and the result was the critically acclaimed album THE TUNNEL. After spending another year on the road together they decided to go their separate ways to pursue individual projects. Early in 2011 Steve Whitehouse was recruited on double bass and the band hit the road again for an extremely successful run of European dates. The huge success of THE BLUE CATS 3rd period is now to be celebrated with a new album BEST DAWN YET on Bluelight Records. Over the last two years or so, the band has been writing together again and now believes they have together a superb collection of the best songs they have ever worked on, as the first single BILLY RUFFIANS pulled from the new album clearly demonstrates. Simultaneously with the new album Bluelight Records will re-release the classic status album THE TUNNEL from 1992. The new release is expanded with four bonus tracks taken from the G-MEN E.P. and all recordings on the CD are remastered. |

| Bob Lind - Finding You Again Spread the news. Reclusive folk-rock singer/songwriter Bob Lind – he of the classic 1966 megahit ‘Elusive Butterfly’ – has just released his first studio album in more than 40 years! “Finding You Again” demonstrates conclusively that genius can continue to flourish, even into an artist’s advancing years. Long known by music-business insiders for his self-destructive battles with the record industry, Bob Lind was, by his own admission, “poison to work with”. Now, thanks to veteran rock guitarist/producer Jamie Hoover, he has emerged with an album of new music that proves his craftsmanship has not only held up but improved and evolved since the 60s. Hoover’s sensitive, versatile production perfectly complements the songs – giving each cut the care and specific shading it deserves. Clean and sober more than 35 years, Lind reveals a late-blooming but tangible personal and artistic maturity in these new songs. He retains the astonishing lyrical virtuosity that brought him critical acclaim when he was in his early 20s, but his melodic scope has broadened and become even more accessible. Amazingly, his voice is stronger and more expressive than ever. The 13-song disc easily bypasses the criticism sometimes levied at singer/songwriters: that their songs all sound the same. Just contrast the rough-rocking self-condemnation of ‘How Dare You Love Me’ and the poignant, tentative soul-searching of ‘Maybe It’s The Rain’. Each song is different from the others, yet all contain the special stamp of one of America’s most passionate songwriters. Lind’s fearless self-honesty is almost uncomfortable to listen to at times. He reveals his darkest corners without ever coming off as self-indulgent, as evident on ‘The Gravity Of The World’. But there’s also a lot of joy in this album. ‘Let It Go’, ‘Exeter (The Wedding Waltz)’ and the vigorous, percussive Caribbean-flavoured title song demonstrate that Lind has not become closed-up and bitter with the passing of time. And there’s a first-ever in the inclusion of a song Lind didn’t write: Peter Allen and David Lasley’s ‘Somebody’s Angel’. Addressing the groundswell of excitement surrounding this release, Lind says, “It’s just endurance. That’s all it is. If you don’t quit and you don’t die, sooner or later the world – or at least a special part of the world – takes notice.
