Jussi Syren And The Groundbreakers is one of the hardest working bluegrass
acts
outside of the United States. Their touring schedule takes no backseat to
their US colleagues
and they have an impressive recording catalogue. Besides their native
Finland they have been touring all over Europe and nine US states. Their
recordings have got airplay in 20+ countries. In their homeland they have
taken bluegrass into mainstream: Primetime TV shows, radio playlists,
music charts, rock festivals and even night clubs.

Their sixth album "From Vyborg To L.A." brings forth Syren´s songwriting
abilities.
The novelty type title song about a touring bluegrass band pays musical
homage to the King Of Bluegrass Jimmy Martin.
"Call Of The Big Wind" and "It´s Draggin´ Me Down" show Syren´s ability to
combine tradiotinal and modern elements in a creative way.
"Farmer´s Son" is written by Thomas Blom - a young and talented Swedish
bluegrass songwriter whose material has been recorded by
American top acts such as Kenny And Amanda Smith.

The Groundbreakers four piece unit has been added with special guests such
as
fiddler Kukka Lehto and dobroist Marko Vanhatalo. Jussi Syren´s daughter
Veera sings harmonies
on "The Ghost Of Laura Wilkins". "From Vyborg To L.A." demonstrates the hard
driving, uncompromising
sound of The Groundbreakers. Syren´s rough and gritty vocals and "close to
the bridge"- mandolin picking
along with Tauri Oksala´s smoking banjo are guaranteed to grab the fan. The
